The virtue of this ordinary Lexus is that it reached a million miles not because of a fastidious human, but despite the lack of one. Yes, one of the five previous owners is ultimately responsible for a majority of the miles, but the four others used it as a normal car with no special treatment for longevity.
I never gave anyone special instructions. It was just a car, like any other, except vastly more durable. There are pretty major oil leaks, although the constant influx of fresh oil top-ups is probably actually helping keep the engine sweet. The differential is moving around massively, stressing the rest of the drivetrain, and several suspension arms are utterly dead — and not cheap to replace. The only slight issue is that Adventureholix still have miles to go on their trip before giving the car back to Matt Farah.
