Mycall Senior Member Northern France. A "fleuve" always empties directly into the sea. In Canada, it depends on what the province decides to use for the official name. Last edited by a moderator: Nov 19, Any difference between "creek" and "stream" is pretty obscure, and I think they mean the same thing in everyday use. Just like we have many words for "street" such as "avenue", "boulevard", etc.

Just to give you more words to learn when learning a language. I am not entirely sure about "boulevard", though. They will always be smaller than or the same size as highways which may cut through the city. These differences while ignorable by some are the difference between right and wrong to others.
